Sam Humphries stormed on the Indie comic book scene this year with an amazing one shot Our Love is Real, which he self-published. Our Love... dealt with a futuristic world where homosexual relationships and even bestiality are the norm, and the new "Taboo" is sex with minerals. A funny, sharp witty look at society's fascination with taboos is also full of awesome action. The book went through multiple printings, sold by Sam directly to select shops, ours included. It became such a hit, that Image Comics reprinted it. Sam's next self-published project is a mini series called Sacrifice, about a modern-day man who winds up taking a harrowing trip to Mesoamerica and lands among the unforgiving Aztec Empire. Since then, he's landed jobs writing Fanboys vs. Zombies for Boom & John Carter: Gods of Mars and Ultimates from Marvel. At the same time, Sam's first publisher-produced creator owned book, Higher Earth, comes out on May 9th. It's AWESOME, and it's only $1.00. 
We launched Sacrifice with an Exclusive Collector's Paradise cover for the first issue, and release parties in both stores. It's only fitting that we continue to promote Sam's amazing work by doing a release party in both stores for the FOUR new books that just started, HIGHER EARTH, ULTIMATES, Fanboys vs. Zombies, and John Carter: Gods of Mars !!!
