JASON AARON has been writing award-winning comic books for over two decades. After winning a Marvel Comics talent search contest in 2001, Aaron quickly became one of Marvel’s preeminent writers, crafting character-defining runs on such titles as GHOST RIDER, WOLVERINE, PUNISHER and DOCTOR STRANGE. His landmark seven year run on THOR featured the headline-grabbing adventures of Jane Foster as the Mighty Thor, and his 2015 STAR WARS series became the best-selling American comic book in more than 20 years. Aaron’s critically acclaimed creator-owned work includes the Eisner and Harvey Award-winning SOUTHERN BASTARDS from Image Comics and the New York Times best-selling SCALPED from Vertigo Comics, plus the recently launched ONCE UPON A TIME AT THE END OF THE WORLD from BOOM! Studios. Aaron has recently made his DC Comics debut in the form of BATMAN OFF-WORLD and a 2024 takeover of Superman’s ACTION COMICS. Jason Aaron was born and raised in Alabama and currently resides in Kansas City. He enjoys many things, but shaving is not one of them.
MIKE CHOI is an amazing comic book and fine art artist, co-creator of X-23, artist on NYX original series, among many other things. He’s done covers for us before, most notably for our Exclusive Usagi Yojimbo #1, and now, for TMNT #1.

Launching a new TMNT comic series in the midst of the characters’ 40th anniversary is clearly one of those dream jobs of all comic book dream jobs. Especially for me, a kid who first fell in love with the Turtles all those years ago because of that original Mirage Studios series, buying those groundbreaking issues fresh off the rack, comics that kicked you in the face with their action-packed grit and gloriously raw attitude. I couldn’t be more honored and thrilled to get to add to that esteemed legacy of comic book face-kicking, especially as part of an amazing IDW run that has expanded the world and timeline of the Turtles in such daring and exciting ways. In terms of what’s to come, the kid in me wants you to know that you can expect some good old-fashioned grit, a sprinkle of dark, new attitude and all the bone-cracking action that four mutated ninja brothers can possibly handle.
