Green Arrow #1
Green Arrow is back to a title with just his name along the top with the first issue arriving this week, following events from the Justice League special, Rise and Fall. The brand new #1 issue writer JT KRUL (Blackest Night Titans, Black Lantern Green Arrow, Fathom, Soulfire), a local favorite and a regular customer at our store, is going to be signing copies of GREEN ARROW #1 as well as the 4th issue of RISE OF ARSENAL, also shipping next week, plus all the other stuff he has done. We may even have a surprise or two in store but we can’t talk about it now, not yet at least.
Join us from 5pm to 8pm as we celebrate JT’s biggest new release. And get ready for MINDFIELD, a brand new Creator Owned series that JT has coming out the following week. The book looks excellent and we hope you give it a chance, and will make it 100% RETURNABLE for anyone who tries it out.
So, why Green Arrow? What about the character and the title are so important right now? Here is a primer on what’s been going on:
Over these last few months, Oliver Queen’s life has been riddled with suffering and loss. In “Justice League: Cry for Justice”, Green Arrow saw his beloved Star City crumble to the ground right before his eyes, resulting not only in the disfigurement of his adapted son Roy (Red Arrow / Arsenal) but also death of Roy’s daughter. Olvier Quinn crossed a dangerous line when he murdered the villain Prometheus in retribution for the destruction of his city. Oliver became a fugitive, hiding out in the mysterious forest which suddenly appeared in the ruins of Star City. For more details on the reasons of the forest read Brightest Day series. And beginning this week, writer JT Krul and artist Diogenes Neves aim to mend the broken Green Arrow with DC Comics’ all-new “Green Arrow” ongoing series.
